...Many local New Age artists have also released
records that should be
considered for gifts this year. Two that are particularly recommended
are
"Island Dance" (Victorian Records, P.O. Box 313 Wakefield,
MA 01880
617-891-4574) by Steve Tapper and Audie Bridges and "Mystic
Soul" (Spirit
Song Records, P.O. Box 663, Lincoln, MA 01771 617-259-1055) by
Wheeler and
Carol. "Island Dance is a jazzy tuneful collection of original
music by the
popular flute and guitar duo. Often featured on WJIB's Nightscapes
program,
"Island Dance" is a lovely album by Massachusetts artists
and would make an
excellent lighthearted gift...
...On the New Age front, Steve Tapper and Audie
Bridges' CD "Island Dance"
is being looked at by major labels, and this group, whose gentleness
is
spelled by all kinds of exotic island rhythms, has been steadily
gaining a
sizeable following outside of the Boston area with a number of
successful
college appearances...
I must say that I had the good fortune to listen
and critique some dynamite

the rest and
these are twelve of my favorites for the year 1989!

E.P.
Billy Lazer & The Visitors - 3 song demo
Pat Metheny - "LETTER FROM HOME" L.P.
The Boatmen - 45 record'

Steve Tapper & Audie Bridges - "ISLAND DANCE" C.D.
Trash Broadway - Self-titled L.P.
Ronnie Earl & The Broadcasters - "SOUL SEARCHING"

Absolute - 3 song demo
The Noreasters - demo
Aerosmith - PUMP - L.P.
